COLP – A woman wanted on an outstanding Williamson County felony arrest warrant for Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer was recently arrested after a standoff with Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies trying to serve the warrant at the camper she lived in on Garfield Street in Colp.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says this all happened just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
The sheriff’s office knew Nichole R. Gower had an outstanding warrant, and when sheriff’s deputies arrived at her camper, they approached the camper and knocked on the door during which time they could hear an aggressive dog barking and growling. Deputies then saw Gower answer the door. She opened it about six inches and saw it was law enforcement. Gower immediately shut and locked the door.
Deputies tried several times to get Gower to voluntarily exit the camper. After an hour long standoff, deputies made entry through the door of the camper using minimal force and causing no visible damage.
Gower was located in the back of the camper hiding behind a blanket and holding an unknown cylindrical object.
Gower was ordered multiple times to drop the unknown cylindrical object and to show her hands which she refused. Pepper spray was deployed and Gower was taken into custody without further incident.
Gower was arrested for the outstanding felony arrest warrant for Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer and also cited for Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer.
Gower was transported to and remanded into the custody of the Williamson County Jail.
