CARMI – Some arrests were made by Carmi Police for various offenses at traffic stops over the last few days.
Police stopped a South Carolina woman for motor vehicle violations Thursday night at Fair and 11th Street.
Police say 27-year-old Natalie G. Sword was stopped for expired registration and vehicle description not matching the registration return. She was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, Unlawful Display of Registration and Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
Sword was booked and released at the White County Jail with a Notice to Appear on all three charges.
Saturday afternoon police stopped an Olney woman on East Main Street and arrested her on two warrants and for obstructing justice.
Police say 22-year-old Jessica L. Loyd of Olney was pulled over for not having a front registration plate. She gave police a fake name and was later identified at Jessica Loyd.
She was arrested for Obstructing Justice and Driving While License Suspended. She also had two Failure to Appear warrants – one from Wayne County and the other from Richland County.
Loyd was taken to the White County Jail where she was given a Notice to Appear on all White County charges and held on the outstanding warrants. She was transferred to Wayne County Sunday.
Saturday night an Albion man was stopped by Carmi Police on Plum and Cora for no registration light and was arrested on an active White County arrest warrant for Failure to Appear in court for Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Registration is Suspended for Mandatory Insurance Violation.
Police say 30-year-old Jonathon G. Heath was taken to the White County Jail.
Then Sunday night, a Carmi woman was arrested after Carmi Police saw raw cannabis in plain view after she was pulled over for having one headlight on her vehicle.
Police say 24-year-old Dezra L. Williams was arrested and cited for Possession of Medical Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle.
She was booked and released with a Notice to Appear in White County Court on May 27.
