NASHVILLE – Two people are facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop in the area of East St. Louis Street at North Mill Street in Nashville and at the Washington County Jail late Thursday night.
Nashville Police say the driver, 36-year-old Jesse R. Sexton of Wayne City, is charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His passenger, 40-year-old Brandy M. Barns of Mt. Vernon, is charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Syringe.
Police stopped the couple around 11:20 p.m. and searched the vehicle. Police found suspected methamphetamine, several capsules of suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
Sexton and Barns were then arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.
Barns told police at the jail she had more contraband hidden on her. It was recovered and found to be suspected methamphetamine, several capsules or suspected fentanyl and hypodermic syringes.
No further information will be released at this time.
