CARBONDALE – Two male juveniles have been arrested and charged for an alleged shooting that recently happened in Carbondale.
According to Carbondale Police, the shooting happened on Sunday, Feb. 25 in the 600 block of Robert A. Stalls Avenue.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified one of the suspects as a 16-year-old male from Carbondale.
On Thursday with assistance from the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Jackson County Court issued arrest warrants for the juvenile for two counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
The juvenile was located in Williamson County that day and arrested by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office without incident. The juvenile was incarcerated in a juvenile detention center.
Detectives located a second male juvenile suspect Friday and arrested him on Jackson County warrants for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.
As of Friday, he was in custody at the Carbondale Police Department awaiting a determination of confinement in a juvenile detention center.
The juveniles’ identities are not being released due to laws pertaining to juvenile offenders.
The investigation into the incident remains active and on-going and more arrests are possible.
