MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested and cited two people after deputies recovered a car that had been stolen from Kentucky at a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois 13 and Carbon Street in Marion.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver, Joshua L. Biegel, was cited for Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Theft, and No Valid Registration. His passenger, Graceevelyn A. Biegel, was cited for  Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were taken to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.

Around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, deputies saw a silver Nissan Joshua Biegel was driving without valid registration. Deputies pulled him over and Biegel said he didn’t have vehicle registration because he had just bought it. He provided a driver’s license but did not have proof of insurance.

Deputies discovered Joshua Biegel had three outstanding arrest warrants; a Parole Violation from Kentucky (Extraditable), Probation Violation from Indiana (Extraditable), and a Forgery warrant from Idaho (Non-Extraditable). Joshua was taken into custody and seated in a patrol vehicle.

Deputies identified his passenger as Graceevelyn Biegel, who advised that she had a non-extraditable warrant out of Kentucky.

While investigating, deputies discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Louisville, Kentucky.

Graceevelyn Biegel was detained at which time she stated that she could not go to jail and advised that she also had methamphetamine in her possession.

Joshua Biegel and Graceevelyn Biegel were taken to jail, where jail staff were able to retrieve the suspected methamphetamine from Graceevelyn which later field tested positive.

Deputies contacted the Louisville Metro Police Department who advised that Joshua Biegel was the suspect in their stolen vehicle case.
